Just keeping busy

Busy with fun stuff that is. I'm looking around & realizing that tomorrow we should have no fun & I should run about a million errands & deep clean just about everything. I don't know how my boys will react to that. They're getting pretty spoiled with my why-be-home-when-it's-sunny attitude. When Kevin left I just didn't want to be home much, but now I'm just being spoiled & enjoying the last month before school starts. Who needs homecooked meals anyways? My boys certainly don't miss them.
I enrolled Kaleb in another session of swim, hoping he'd learn breathing & that it would help him remember what he learned. I didn't see any changes since his last session, but I'm sure it helped somehow. I have to think that or I'd be annoyed that I spent money & drove to swim every day for another two weeks :) My boy got so brave that on the last day he allowed one of the teachers to gently lower him into the pool off the diving board. The other kids all jumped right in, but not my sweet timid boy. I was honestly proud that he even worked up to this.
The teachers all dress like that...what boy wouldn't learn to swim?!
On pioneer day we decided last minute to ditch the celebration & go to Sea World with Jeff & Ali. We had a blast. I was impressed that Ali would brave a theme park with a 1 month old. I've only attempted it when they get to 2 months & I thought I was brave. She's the woman. Watching her & Jeff taking care of their cuties made me realize what an easy stage my kids are at. Kaleb can do alot himself & Kole can't walk yet, but can feed himself. I forgot what a treat it is to be able to eat your lunch at lunchtime, instead of feeding your kids & hoping for a few bites before they need something else. Ah, the luxuries!
We did our own pioneer celebration on Sunday and made corn husk dolls. Hah. I know they're hideous & they fell apart after 5 minutes, but it was fun to have a random project with Kaleb. Especially something I remember from my childhood.

My Koley loves his food. This boy requires about 2 baths a day. And he still looks like this half the time. He is also butt-scooting too fast. His bum is paying the price & I don't know what to do. Crawling babies have those little leg warmers for their knees, but Koley needs a knee length diaper or something equally padded. Poor kid, maybe you should walk soon!!!

Last week we went swiming three days in a row. I didn't even bother putting my beach bag away. Summer is by far my favorite season. I love the holidays & baking, but something about sun & sand can't be beat. Plus, if I'm totally honest I bake unhealthy treats year round. Kaleb had a friend stay over a couple nights this weekend & we went to a bounce house place. The kids loved it & now Kaleb is begging me to take him again. I thought the chair was a great picture spot, but it was too fun to keep to ourselves.

Fun!! Your summer sounds very familiar. We have been eating horribly and I need to do a deep clean too but cannot seem to find the motivation or time. Ah well, thankfully my boys don't seem to complain or notice and we really are enjoying our summer. I just can't believe how fast it is flying by! I've been meaning to sign Kaden up for another session of swim but have been dreading plopping down more $ and sitting in the steamy place where the pool is with a toddler for two more weeks- bleck! Congrats on getting through that:)

Thanks for coming to Sea World with us:) I hope we can go again soon. I've got to give props to Ty since he slept so MUCH! I'm glad you're getting out and playing tons...and yes, homecooked meals ARE overrated- esp. during the summer:)
